How We Partner

We invest. We operate. We grow.

i.

We invest.

Patient capital, conservative underwriting, and a willingness to structure each deal to fit the owner — partial buyouts, succession plans, or full sales.

ii.

We operate.

Hands-on partners with experience running recruiting, e-commerce, and growth marketing engines. We don’t parachute in — we work alongside the people who built the business.

iii.

We grow.

Most of the businesses we partner with do great work and have great reputations — but no real growth engine. We bring the whole thing: sales and marketing systems, operational discipline, and the right people in the right seats.

Capabilities

What we bring to every partnership.

Six core capabilities, applied with discipline. Each partner has built a career around one of them — together, they form the operating system we share with the businesses we back.

01

Business Strategy

Clear thinking on the highest-leverage decisions: where to grow, what to stop, and how to compound.

02

Operational Systems

The processes, playbooks, and dashboards that turn a founder-led business into a repeatable operation.

03

Sales & Revenue Systems

Pipelines, pricing, and sales motion designed to outlast any single rainmaker and scale with the team.

04

Marketing & Brand Development

The marketing engine — positioning, demand, and brand — that turns word-of-mouth into a system.

05

Leadership Development

Coaching for founders and senior operators on the work of leading well as the business gets bigger.

06

Talent & Organizational Design

Recruiting the right people, designing the org, and building the culture that makes growth durable.

What We Look For

We partner with one kind of business.

  • 01 You’ve built something real. You’re just not sure what comes next.
  • 02 Your customers are loyal. Your reputation is spotless. Your pipeline is word-of-mouth.
  • 03 You’ve never had a real sales and marketing process behind you. You know the growth is there.
  • 04 You’re not sure what the next chapter looks like. You just know it’s time.
  • 05 You care deeply about what happens to your people after the deal.
  • 06 An owner considering a succession plan, a partial sale, or a growth partner.
  • 07 Most often in trades, home services, niche B2B services, and select consumer brands.

Our Philosophy

“One good company at a time.”

GoodWorks Partners isn’t a fund with a deployment target. We don’t need to do twelve deals a year. We need to do the right deal — with the right owner, the right operator, and the right plan — and then do it again.

The name comes from Ephesians 2:10 — created to do good works. That framing shapes how we partner: this is stewardship, not extraction. We invest where we believe the work itself is good.

Frequently Asked

Questions sellers always ask.

What happens to my employees?

That’s usually the first thing owners ask, and it’s the right question. The honest answer is that it depends on the deal — but protecting the people who built the business with you is always part of the conversation.

Am I selling 100%, or can I keep some equity?

Every deal is different. We’ve structured things a lot of different ways, and we’re not attached to any one of them. The right structure is the one that works for you.

How long does this process take?

Longer than you might expect, and that’s by design. We move deliberately because we think that’s respectful. The first conversation is just a conversation — nothing more.

What size businesses do you partner with?

We focus on well-run small businesses with room to grow. If you’re wondering whether you fit, the best way to find out is to start a conversation.

What do you actually do after the deal closes?

We stay involved. The specifics depend on the deal structure and what the business actually needs — but we’re operators, not observers.

Why would I choose GoodWorks over a traditional buyer?

We’re not trying to extract value from something you spent years building. We’re trying to steward it. That shapes everything about how we approach a deal.

Do you work with businesses outside of Georgia?

Geography matters less than fit. If the business and the owner are the right match for us, we’ll find a way to make it work.

What do you look for in a partner business?

A great reputation, an owner who’s proud of what they built, and room to grow. Beyond that — let’s talk.
